Happy Thanksgiving

A not so quick card for the challenge at CAS(E) this sketch.
I tried different color combinations for the panel and
card base, but ended up with neutral for both,
feeling that this highlighted the leaf best.

Supplies ~
Stamps:  Craft's Meow Harvest Blessings
Paper:  SU Naturals White & Watercolor by Strathmore
Ink:  SU Pumpkin Pie & Rich Razzleberry (on the leaf)
Dies:  PTI Leaf Prints & Spellbinders Circles
Additional Supplies:  PTI Woodgrain Impression Plate; Mister Huey Sprays Sunshine, Boss Lady, Sunset & Leaf Green

One More Halloween Card

One more hopefully masculine Halloween card for my brother.
Sometimes it pays not to put things away, since my Grunge Me
set was still on my desk along with the spider stamp.
I wanted something not typically Halloween, so went for graphic.
It is for the color challenge at ColourQ and the 52 Card Pickup.

Supplies ~
Stamps:  PTI Grunge Me & 2009 Halloween Tags, Scary Spider by Hero Arts
Paper:  PTI White
Ink:  SU Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry & Old Olive (for Kiwi Kiss); Memento Tuxedo Black
No bling!~ I really had to restrain myself ;) !

October 2012 Papertrey Blog Hop

A fancy Christmas tag choosing the brightest color choice.
All supplies are by PTI except for rhinestones.
 Blog-hop-logo
This month it is all about breaking out of your comfort zone and trying out some non-traditional color schemes for a holiday card or tag!  Sometimes it is so easy to get stuck in a rut when it comes time to paper craft for the holidays, so here is your chance to let loose, have fun and try something brand new!  Nichole has put together six non-traditional holiday color schemes together for you above.  Pick one that inspires you and try your hand at using it as a starting point for a special holiday themed project!  Keep in mind, you don't have to use all four colors for any given scheme, just go with the flow and use as many or as few as you like!

Fifteen done ... Fifteen to go

Truthfully I did not make these for the color challenge at ColourQ,
but I am quite happy that they match almost perfectly.
I've been working on them for a while, and still have several to make yet.
I hope I do not truly need thirty, since that would mean
I'll be working overtime again this week and next ;(.
These will be for the babies in the NICU where I work.
The Orange scalloped circle is Tangerine Tango, the
spider's bow tie is quite close to Only Orange, and the
green rhinestone on his bow tie works for Pear Pizzazz.
The sentiment is computer generated and punched out.
I am also entering them in the Eerie inspiration at Simon Says Stamp.
Lastly, I am entering them into the 52 card pickup;
hope its okay that it's not a card ;).

Caffeine for the Night Shift

One more quick card for the "Night" challenge at CASology,
using the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch, and the
colors from Embellish Magazine.
The additional requirement for this challenge is to
use paint.  I used Mr. Huey's color mists for the background on the
Layerz Mat Stack yet still  kept it CAS.
What you ask, does coffee have to do with "Night"?
Well everything if you have to work the night shift.
Thankfully, I don't have to the work the night shift anymore.
But when I did, caffeine really helped my stay alert ~
especially between three and six ;).

Catching Up

A card for the newest challenge at CASology
for the cue word "night."
I like the idea for this card, but it didn't
turn out quite as I imagined it might.
Guess I'll have to have another try ;).
I actually like this card much better,
that I made for the sky challenge at CASology.

Supplies ~
Stamps:  WPlus 9 Guiding Light Sentiments

Ink:  Versamark Dazzle
Dies:  PTI Edgers # 3 (for the curtains), Spellbinders Rectangles
Additional Supplies:  PTI Woodgrain Impression Plate, Judi Kins Gold Metallic Gold Embossing Powder

I have only missed two of the challenges at CASology,
and this post will rectify that.  Of course, they are past the deadline.
I had started both of them before the deadline,
but health issues and required overtime got in the way.
The first one is for the cue word "White."
There were many gorgeous entries, but I took a different approach.
I thought of a mummy ;).
I tore masking tape and did some sponging for the background.
I am also entering this one into the challenge at
Simon Says Stamp to use die cuts.

Supplies ~
Stamps:  PTI Halloween Treats & Sweets, Mummy from the dollar bin at Michaels
Paper:  PTI White
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black & Ranger Tea Dye Distress Ink

The second challenge I missed was for the cue "Zoo."
It's for my son who LOVES snakes.

Hello You

One more quick card today.
I was planning on using the trendy trees set for one more card for the now closed
challenge at CASology for the cue word leaf, but ran out of time.
I am entering it at CAS-ual Fridays for the hearts and at
Less is More for the wings (there is a bird in one of the hearts).
I am really not a fan of one layer cards (perhaps because I love my die cuts),
but I am happy with how this one turned out.
I like how the leaves grounded the middle tree.

CFC74: Create a Clean And Simple project with a heart

At Less is More ~
Time for
ONE LAYER
again and this time we have given you lots of scope with our theme of Wings
There are lots of things which would qualify in this category... insects, birds, cars, aeroplanes... what else can you think of?

Supplies ~
Stamps:  PTI Trendy Trees
Paper:  PTI White
Ink:  SU Poppy Parade, Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight & Pumpkin Pie

Let Your True Colors Shine!

This one is really CAS ~ no dies or embellishment and only two layers.
It is for the leaf challenge at CASology and the color challenge at Color Throwdown.
I am also entering at 52 card pickup.
This is my second entry for the challenge at CASology.
The first one is my previous post.
I LOVE these leaves in this stamp set!

Supplies ~
Stamps:  Golden Days by Craft's Meow
Paper:  PTI White, SU Melon Mambo
Ink:  SU Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie & Lucky Limeade, Memento Tuxedo Black

Edited to add:  Instead of checking out the cards before I post mine, I have been checking them out afterwards and realized Tara had used the same set and sentiment.  Be sure to check out her lovely card also!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you are having a great weekend!

Not sure if this will be for Halloween or Thanksgiving, so no sentiment yet.
I made it for three challenges ~ color at Dynamic Duos

and using dies or punches at Simon Says Stamp.
Couldn't pass up that one since everything on the card is die cut, including the card ;).

Paper:  PTI Orange Zest & Orange Zest Pattern Pack, SU Crumb Cake & Old Olive
Dies:  PTI  Shape Up Series Pumpkin Sections & Pumpkin, Cuttlebug Leaf

Believe in Pink

Happy to be feeling well enough to make a card today and post it ;).
It is for three challenges ~ color at ColourQ,

I used Soft Stone paper, then realized it wasn't dark
enough for the Basic Gray, so I added some silver rhinestones.
