Caffeine for the Night Shift

One more quick card for the "Night" challenge at CASology,
using the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch, and the
colors from Embellish Magazine.
The additional requirement for this challenge is to
use paint.  I used Mr. Huey's color mists for the background on the
Layerz Mat Stack yet still  kept it CAS.
What you ask, does coffee have to do with "Night"?
Well everything if you have to work the night shift.
Thankfully, I don't have to the work the night shift anymore.
But when I did, caffeine really helped my stay alert ~
especially between three and six ;).

Another Thank You

This card uses the colors at Embellish Magazine and a sketch from this week's Make it Monday.  Nichole shared some insight into her design process and how she uses random bits of inspiration to create unique sketches as a foundation for some of her projects.

Love You Forever

Two more cards for my son for the challenge at Embellish Magazine.  We have been going on bike rides every day I am off work, and on the days I only work eight hours (I often work twelve hour shifts).  The first card more closely matches the colors, and the second card uses lighter versions of the recommended colors.  I made the first one last night, and decided this morning that the hills looked like snow.  So, I made a different, more simple one with only splashes of the purple and orange.  It may be hard to see, but there is a little orange in the handle bars.

Create a card, layout, or altered item with bicycles and using the color palette showcased in the inspirational graphic above.

Supplies ~
Stamps:  Hero Arts Joy Ride
Paper: SU Naturals White, Summer Starfruit (one of the new in colors),  Peach Parfait, Marina Mist,
     Soft Suede
Ink: SU Marina Mist & Basic Gray, Orchid Opulence Marker (for the handle bars)
Dies:  PTI Clouds, Trendy Trees, In the Meadow; Sizzix SU Flower Burst Embosslit
Additional Supplies:  PTI Impression Plates Woodgrain & Background Basics - Diamond; Twine
     from the Twinery

Supplies ~
Stamps:  Hero Arts Joy Ride; PTI Simple Sentiments
Paper:  SU Naturals White & Daffodil Delight
Ink: SU Baja Breeze & Basic Gray, SU Pumpkin Pie Marker (handle bars)
Dies:  PTI Limitless Layers: 1 3/4" Circles

A Sweet Embellishment Challenge

A Mother's Day card for the challenges at Embellish Magazine and The Sweet Stop.
This month they are celebrating their third birthday, and we can choose a sketch from their previous sketch challenges.  So, I looked for a sketch that would work well with washi tape, and chose this one:

Create a card, layout, or altered item using tape and using the color palette showcased in the inspirational graphic above.
Tape, specifically, washi tape is such a fun, new, trendy product that paper crafters are adding to their projects. There are so many ways to use tape, including simply sticking it on, creating some sort of background or design, or even using it for a functional purpose. You can stamp a tape effect, trim patterned paper strips and tear the ends to simulate the look, or create your own using stamps, tissue paper, and double-sided adhesive. Of course, washi tape, fabric tape, and masking tape are all wonderful to add to your projects as well. It’s all up to you and we can’t wait to see what you create!

I made my own washi tape using Nichole's instructions here.

The finished card ~

Supplies ~
Stamps:  PTI Harvest Berries & Turning a New Leaf (the ferns on the washi tape)
Paper:  PTI White & Autumn Rose, SU Marina Mist
Ink:  SU Marina Mist & Wild Wasabi
Dies:  PTI Mat Stack 4 & Layerz Mat Stack 4, MFT Flower Trio & Leaf Trio
Additional Supplies:  Kaiserscrapbook Rhinestones

Thanks so much for stopping by ~ hope you found some time to stamp today!
