So Sweet of You

A bit of a break from making cards and blogging.  My son
qualified for nationals in track, and we decided to make
it a vacation.  He came no where close to winning, but it
was a great experience, and he did have his personal best for
the long jump.

This card is for challenges at CASology where the cue word
is "dessert," and at A Passion for Papertrey where the challenge
is to use to three embellishments.  I used die cuts, sequins and
rhinestones.

Three more cards using the die and paper instead of embellishments ~

Paper:  PTI Soft Stone & Rustic White, SU Pink Pirouette
Ink:  PTI Hibiscus Burst

A Grand Slam

One rather simple card for four challenges.  I usually combine
challenges, but its been awhile since I combined four.  I used
the colors at ColourQ which went along well with the masculine
challenge at Simon Says Stamp.  Two challenges ~ Addicted to CAS
and A Passion for Papertrey both had circle challenges, and I almost
always use at least one Papertrey product on all of my cards.

One more picture, non card related ~ from chaperoning a field trip
to the Milwaukee County Zoo on Friday with my son's class.
I am not bragging, well maybe a little ;) ~ but we do have one of the
best zoos in the country.  They just opened a new exhibit with
sting rays and sharks, and you can "pet" them.  The sharks were
less likely to get close enough to touch, but sting rays swam close to
the edge and are very soft to touch.  The kids absolutely loved it.  If
you are anywhere near Milwaukee, WI this summer, I would highly
recommend going to the zoo, just to see this exhibit.  My son is
the short one with his legs in the air ~ almost falling in  ;).

Stamps:  PTI Grunge Me & Think Big Favorites # 12
Paper: PTI White & Soft Stone
Ink:  SU Going Gray, Island Indigo & Pool Party

After snow flurries on Thursday, I wasn't about to waste
the wonderful weather we had this past weekend.
This card is for my niece who just passed her driver's test.

April PTI Blog Hop

It's time again for the PTI Blog Hop ~ this month the
focus is on tilting ~ designing on an angle.  I combined
challenges as usual.  For the first card I used the colors
at ColourQ, and for the second I used the "Let's Celebrate"
challenge at A Passion for Papertrey.  I had a fun discovery
recently when I realized I could use shiny confetti on my
cards just like sequins.

A Quick Hostess Gift

A happy surprise that the negative die cut challenge at
A Passion for Papertrey has been extended for another
week.  I made these for a quick hostess gift to give on
Easter.  I CASE'd my own cards here.  This is my second
entry for the challenge; my first entry is here.
I am also entering these at The 52 Card Pickup.
Making these as a negative die cut is easier than
tying to glue the letter on straight ;).

I took my son and his friend to the Milwaukee Public Museum
today to see the "Real Pirates" exhibit. Even though they were
trying to show their "mean pirate faces," this makes me smile.

Supplies ~ All by PTI

Happy Easter X 18

I made these cards for the babies in the NICU I work at to give to
their parents on Easter.  As soon as I saw Melissa's new series
"Polka Dot Parade," I knew I wanted to use them for this year's cards.
I bought two of the dies, to make my work easier.  During
the February countdown at PTI there were many cards using
the bunnies with negative die cuts and tags, and I have seen others
since then.  I liked the idea of tags and negative die cuts.
I  worked assembly line fashion using three colors ~
Blueberry Sky, Summer Sunrise and Aqua Mist.
This is also why this is my first post for the week on Friday ;).

I am entering them into five challenges ~
A Passion for Papertrey ~ to use a negative die cut
CASology ~ Song
(There are many songs that work for these cards ~ including:
Little Bunny Foo Foo, Easter Parade, Here Comes Peter Cottontail,
Funny Bunny and Bunny Hop ~ to name a few.)
Moxie Fab World ~ Emphasize the Negative
Simon Says Stamp ~ Easter / Spring
52 Card Pickup ~ always anything goes

I made these for last Easter.

Supplies ~
Stamps:  PTI Take Three: Spring
Paper:  PTI White, Blueberry Sky, Aqua Mist & Summer Sunrise; Pattern Packs in the same colors
Ink:  PTI Blueberry Sky & Aqua Mist,  SU So Saffron
Dies:  PTI Tag Sale # 6 & Tag Sale # 7,  Polka Dot Parade # 1
Additional Supplies:  PTI Buttons; SU Bashful Blue & So Saffron Ribbons; Sequins, Pom Poms & Aqua ribbon - LCS

An Extraterrestrial Birthday

A birthday card for a nine year old who loves Star Wars.
The cue word this week at CASology is "extraterrestrial."
A great coincidence ;) ~ for a card I needed to make
anyway.  I also used various shades of gray for the
challenge at A Passion for Papertrey.

At a Passion for Papertrey

Call Me Maybe

One more card for my son ~
I'm stocking up for when I have to work overtime.
When it gets busy at work, overtime is not optional.
He loves the song ~ Call Me Maybe ~ I know this one will make him smile.
I used black and white for the challenge at A Passion for Papertrey.
This is my second card for this challenge, the first one is my
previous post.  I used PTI's block alphabet dies for the
"love letters" challenge at CAS-ual Fridays.   I am also
entering this card at the 52 Card Pickup.
