This is one of five cards I made for a friend of mine

Moving On ...

I hope you all had a lovely and relaxing Mother's Day with
your families.  Mine was a rather memorable one, but not really
in a good way ;).  My 8 year old son who has ADHD
came home on Friday with a project that is due on
Monday, that took over nine hours of work to complete.
This was something that should have been completed at
school, but because of his inability to focus (despite being
on medication), he was so far behind.  We would work for a awhile,
and then take a break that we both badly needed. I ended up having
to cancel taking my Mom out to lunch to work on this project.
Of course, being my Mom, she was very understanding, and
we will certainly reschedule.  If anyone has any suggestions for
writing projects with kids ADHD, I would be forever grateful.

On our breaks, I would work on a card to help to myself relax.
I am getting an early start on Father's Day cards for work.
I tried using some of the masculine color combinations
at the Dynamic Duos and combined them with another
challenge.  It is their one year anniversary ~ Happy Anniversary!
We could use any past challenge colors.

This is the one I am submitting to Dynamic Duos.  I am also posting
it at the 52 Card Pickup.

This one I used the same color combination and Heather's
I used aluminum tape for the stars.

Here I used the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch and the color
combination of Pure Poppy and Black.

Lastly, I used the sketch at Retro Sketches and the
Soft Suede and Pool Party color combination.

It's been a long weekend and I am going to skip a detailed listing of supplies.
The stamp sets were PTI Star Prints and The Craft's Meow Grads & Dads.
The patterned paper is retired SU Comfort Cafe.   If anyone
is wondering about anything else, I will be happy to let you know.

Papertrey May Blog Hop Challenge and ...

As usual I had too many ideas for cards for this month's Papertrey blog hop.
I made three cards and combined each with two other challenges.
The challenges almost seemed as though they were made to go together.

 The inspiration ~

This birthday card is for my Mom, and I combined it with challenges at

My next card is for Father's Day / man challenges at Simon Says Stamp! and Cas-ual Fridays.
I could probably also enter it into the Step-It-Up ~ Mixing Patterned Papers Make it Monday, but I like the next card better for that one.

We're leaving shortly to go up north to see my niece graduate from high school, so I am going to have wait to go blog hopping, and see everyone's wonderful creations.  Coincidentally we were headed up north on the same day of March PTI Blog Hop to watch her in her last high school play.  She played the widow of a gangster, hence the heavy makeup.  Here is a picture of her with my son.

Thank you so much for hopping by!  For those of you in the US, hope you have a lovely, relaxing Memorial Day weekend.

Just For You

One more card today for three challenges at the color throwdown, a sketch challenge at deconstructing-jen., and this week's Make it Monday technique.  The two outside flowers are from the heart border, the small center flower is from the simple circles border - cut in half, the orange ones are from the small scallop border and the large one is from the movers & shakers - poppers die.

Make It Monday #66: Felt Flowers From Border Dies

There seems to be no end to the versatility of basic dies. In our opinion, they are some of the handiest tools to have in your stash. Today, Ashley tests and proves the theory by using her border dies to create amazing floral accents out of felt. Use her technique on your next card to give it some homemade sweetness.
Supplies ~
Stamps:  SU Just Believe
Paper:  PTI White, Hibiscus Burst, Ocean Tides, Soft Stone; My Mind's Eye - Lost & Found -
     Portobello Road
Ink: SU Basic Gray
Dies & Punches:  PTI Turning a New Leaf, Heart Border, Simple Circles, Small Scallop Border,
Movers & Shakers - Poppers; Spellbinders Circles;  SU Word Window & Modern Label Punches
Additional Supplies:  PTI Felt Hibiscus Burst, Orange Zest & Raspberry Fizz, PTI Orange Zest
Button, Me & My Big Ideas Rhinestone

Cheating ... maybe?

I am finally catching up on my challenges.  This card is for ColourQ and Freshly Made Sketches.
I knew I had paper, with most of the colors for the challenge on it, so I was able to pull in all of the colors, except for the burgundy.  These colors are WAY out of my comfort zone.  It feels a little like cheating, since I did not figure out how to get all of the colors on the card without the patterned paper. I also had so much fun with the glitter die cut accent earlier today, that I am entering one more card into this week's Make it Monday with Heather.

I usually rotate the sketch, and did again this week.  I also made it into a standard 4 1/4 by 5 1/2.

Supplies ~
Stamps:  PTI Think Big Favorites # 1
Paper:  SU Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Very Vanilla: DCWV Mariposa Matstack
Ink:  SU Bravo Burgundy
Dies:  PTI Flower Fusion # 3, Mat Stack 1 & Layerz Mat Stack 1
Additional Supplies:  Art Institute Glitter Palo Verde (161) & Pumpkin (56) (I tried to use Coral
Reef # 142, but out of the container looked more pink than coral)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
